A Greek mathematician, physicist, engineer, inventor and astronomer. Although few details of his life are known, he is considered one of the leading scientists of classical antiquity. He is famous for sitting in the bath and recognizing the laws of motion. He was so excited at this discovery that he is said to have run naked through the streets, shouting ""eureka"", a Greek word that became common usage, meaning ""I found him"". He also designed and wrote on a Tangram-type puzzle. It consists of pieces cut from a square that can be used to make other polygons. This tangram is called Archimedes' Loculus. At over 2,000 years old, it is the oldest puzzle in the world. What Archimedes didn't know at the time was that, without rotation or reflection, there were 536 different ways to put the 14 pieces back into the square frame.
